Truth Social to launch prediction markets with Crypto.com partnership through deal

US President Donald Trump’s media company says it plans to add prediction markets to Truth Social through an exclusive partnership with Crypto.com’s Derivatives North America unit, which is a CFTC registered exchange and clearinghouse.
What is Trump’s new prediction market called?
According to both Trump Media and Technology Group Corp and Crypto.com, Truth Social will become the first social media platform to offer built in prediction market tools. The new feature, called Truth Predict, will let users trade contracts on political events, economic indicators, commodity prices, and major sports outcomes, all with real time pricing.
“We are thrilled to become the world’s first publicly traded social media platform to offer our users access to prediction markets,” said Devin Nunes, Chairman and CEO of Trump Media in a press release.
He said the company aims to “create a new standard for access to prediction market platforms” and added, “For too long, global elites have closely controlled these markets – with Truth Predict, we’re democratizing information and empowering everyday Americans to harness the wisdom of the crowd, turning free speech into actionable foresight.”
The contracts will be offered through Crypto.com Derivatives North America, which the companies say will give Truth Social users a federally compliant way to make predictions on real world events.
“Prediction markets are poised to be a multi-deca-billion dollar industry,” said Kris Marszalek, Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com. He said, “Crypto.com has quickly become one of the most trusted providers of prediction market services, and we’re thrilled to combine with Truth Social to support the world’s first prediction markets available from a social media platform.”
When will Crypto.com and Truth Social release Truth Predict?
Beta testing is expected to start on Truth Social soon, with a full US launch coming after that. Trump Media says it plans to expand the service worldwide once it meets all required regulations.
Users on Truth Social and on its streaming platform Truth Plus will be able to convert their reward gems into the Cronos digital currency, which they can then use to buy prediction contracts. This move builds on earlier deals between Trump Media and Crypto.com, including plans to create Trump Media Group CRO Strategy Inc., which is linked to a proposed business merger with Yorkville Acquisition Corp.

Marszalek also promoted the partnership on X, writing, “Truth Social Launching Prediction Markets, powered by Crypto.com” and adding that integrating prediction markets with social media “will quickly expand this into a multi-deca-billion dollar industry” and allow Truth Social users to “trade contracts on everything from the Fed rates to football.”
The move is not all that surprising, since Trump had previously planned to nominate Brian Quintenz, a former Kalshi board member, to lead the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He withdrew the nomination last month.
Since then, the CFTC’s interim leadership has started speaking more positively about prediction markets, calling them an important new frontier. The agency also dropped its appeal in the Kalshi case and ended an investigation into Polymarket’s continued access for US users.
Adding to the momentum, Polymarket recently brought on Donald Trump Jr. as an adviser ahead of its planned return to the US. And earlier this year, Kalshi, Polymarket’s main US competitor, also added Trump Jr. as an adviser.

NBA memo issued to all teams details integrity concerns amid gambling scandal

The NBA has issued an urgent memo to all 30 teams stressing that “more can be done” to protect the integrity of the game, following the gambling scandal that has rocked the league.
Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, and dozens of others were arrested by the FBI over the elaborate scam described as a criminal gambling operation that used inside information to place illegal bets.
The full impact and outcome of the recent developments are yet to unravel, but this is a situation that has rocked the NBA to its core.
Speaking on Amazon Prime Video’s debut NBA broadcast, Commissioner Adam Silver said that he was “deeply disturbed”, adding that, “there’s nothing more important to the league and its fans than the integrity of the competition. And so I had a pit in my stomach. It was very upsetting.”
Now, the NBA has informed all of its teams that a wide-ranging probe is underway, with a review of many rules to take place, with increased scrutiny on prop bets in particular.
The memo, issued by the NBA’s general counsel Rick Buchanan and the EVP of league policy Dan Spillane, was detailed by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

NBA memo to its teams: “While the unusual betting on Terry Rozier’s “unders” in the March 2023 game was detected in real time because the bets were placed legally, we believe there is more that can be done from a legal/regulatory perspective to protect the integrity of the NBA… https://t.co/tagjQsd7Vr

Dire risks that gambling can impose upon NBA careers and livelihoods
The full memo underlines the gravity of the crisis and the urgency felt at the heart of the NBA to find solutions to betting questions.
It seems apparent that further regulation is required, as well as steps to protect athletes and coaches from the threat of outside influence.
“Given the spread of legal betting to the majority of U.S. states, the recurrence of integrity issues across sports, and the emergence of novel betting formats and markets, this is an opportune time to carefully reassess how sports betting should be regulated and how sports leagues can best protect themselves, their players, and their fans, read the memo.
“While the unusual betting on Terry Rozier’s ‘unders’ in the March 2023 game was detected in real time because the bets were placed legally, we believe there is more that can be done from a legal/regulatory perspective to protect the integrity of the NBA and our affiliated leagues. In particular, proposition bets on individual player performance involve heightened integrity concerns and require additional scrutiny.

It continued, “We have also begun a process of reviewing league policies regarding injury reporting, the training and education of all NBA personnel, and safety measures for NBA players.
“With sports betting now occupying such a significant part of the current sports landscape, every effort must be made to ensure that players, coaches, and other NBA personnel are fully aware of the dire risks that gambling can impose upon their careers and livelihoods; that our injury disclosure rules are appropriate; and that players are protected from harassment from bettors.”
The official memo added that AI would be fully utilized as part of a review of internal and external integrity monitoring programs, with other resources used to identify problematic betting activity. The league also invited feedback and further dialogue on the overall review process.

Illinois issues warning about prediction markets, as it reconfirms its position

The Illinois Gaming Board has become the latest in the United States to warn against prediction markets as it issues a memorandum.
The statement has come in response to recent inquiries regarding prediction markets, including purported sports event contracts. These questions have prompted the regulatory board to reconfirm its position on the topic.

Some news: I hadn’t seen this reported yet, but late last week Illinois regulators told gaming licensees in the state (cough, cough DraftKings, FanDuel) that getting into prediction markets could impact suitability. Fifth state to do this.https://t.co/CP3AScHYWK pic.twitter.com/Wye7XsyvfE
— Dustin Gouker (@DustinGouker) October 27, 2025

“As a general matter, there is no right under Illinois law to engage in or profit from gambling through contract or otherwise…
“Gambling is legal in Illinois only to the extent allowed under State law, such as the Illinois Gambling Act, Video Gaming Act, Sports Wagering Act, and Criminal Code of 2012. It is unlawful to unknowingly establish, maintain, or operate an Internet site that permits a person to play a game of chance or skill for money or other thing of value, or that permits a person to make a wager upon the result of any sport, game, contest, political nomination, appointment, or election via the Internet without an IGB-issued license.”
Illinois isn’t alone in its thoughts about prediction markets
The memorandum continues to outright say: “‘Predictions markets’ constitute gambling activity under Illinois law.” It is said that parties who participate in or facilitate such activity within the state, without IGB licensure or authorization, are engaged in illegal gambling.
The regulator warns that if someone is found to be violating gaming laws or rules of another state or tribal government, such conduct may likewise impact that party’s suitability for licensure in Illinois. In April, the regulator became the latest state to issue cease-and-desist letters to prediction markets like Kalshi and Robinhood, accusing them of breaking the law by letting people trade contracts based on sports events.
It’s not just this state which has made their opinions known on prediction markets, as others have also issued concerns. Earlier in October, the Pennsylvania gambling watchdog director claimed that the “growing presence” of these markets is a “significant threat” to the state’s regulations.
In September, the Arizona Department of Gaming sent communications to approved sportsbooks in the state warning them that offering prediction markets outside of Arizona could put their license at risk. The Ohio Casino Control Commission has issued similar warnings, as has Tennessee.

“I was averaging 18 a game before this nonsense — so just know… if I don’t drop 20 in my next game, I’m suing everybody in real life. Comments included. #DefamationAffectsBuckets #AgentZeroNotAgentInformant.”
In the past week, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups, and former NBA star Damon Jones were arrested by the FBI and charged over alleged illegal gambling. The separate allegations have been denied. However, the 43-year-old insists he was talking about his case not this FBI probe.
In July, Arenas was arrested alongside five others on a federal indictment alleging that they were operating an illegal gambling business. He was later seen dancing out of jail as he denied any involvement. The former NBA star claims the cases are not linked.

“There’s one thing that I do, troll. Tell on somebody, I don’t do that.” The two-minute-long video has racked up over 800,000 views. Arenas has been posting videos relating to the 2K basketball game which is what he’s referring to in the caption regarding points.
